Learn to Fence Classes

Presidio Fencing Club welcomes you to experience Olympic fencing at Santa Barbara’s first full-time fencing studio. Join a group class on Saturday afternoons or schedule a series of private lessons with a coach. We will introduce the elements of modern swordplay, including basic bladework, footwork, strategy, and sparring. No experience necessary. Students should wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. All other equipment is provided.

Private lessons can be arranged with a coach and scheduled during one of the open fencing periods on the Class Schedule. (cost is $20/twenty-five-minute lesson)

Sign up by sending an email to tim@presidiofencing.com. Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance. For group classes, a minimum of two students are required. We try to organize classes according to participant ages.

Be sure to check out the Salle Rules and bring a completed registration form, both of which can be downloaded here (Adobe Reader required for rules). Pay by cash or check made out to 'Presidio Fencing Club.' Sorry, no credit cards accepted at this time.
